Carly grew up in a small town called Northampton in eastern Pennsylvania and moved to central PA to attend Bucknell University, where she earned her bachelor’s and master’s degree in chemistry. At Bucknell, Carly worked in the lab of Dr. Robert Stockland Jr., where she synthesized novel heteroarylgold compounds and studied their reactivity with electrophiles relevant to gold catalysis. Her journey to the Midwest has brought her to the Buller Lab, where she is excited to discover the power of enzymes! In her free time, Carly enjoys running, hiking, going to concerts and spending time with her two cats.
